New Pop-up Vaccination Clinics Offer Tickets to QCX!
The City of Regina is working in partnership with the Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) to offer pop-up COVID-19 vaccination clinics at outdoor pools so that more Reginans have an accessible opportunity to get vaccinated. The new clinics will offer more than a vaccine! The first 5,000 people to get vaccinated at one of the new designated pop-up clinics will receive a complimentary ticket to Queen City Ex (QCX).
“We all benefit from a vaccinated population – a higher number of fully vaccinated people means safer community events,” said Mayor Sandra Masters. “We’re hoping the outdoor pool locations and the QCX passes encourage young people to access the COVID-19 vaccine. We want to see a safe and successful QCX event this summer.”
The additional incentive is thanks to Regina Exhibition Association Limited (REAL), operator of Evraz Place, who offered up the passes in hopes that more people choose to “Stick It to COVID.”
The first clinic will be located outside Maple Leaf Pool at 1101 14 Ave E this Friday, July 23, from 12 to 4 p.m. The City and SHA will release details on other dates, times and locations in the coming days.
“We are excited to partner with the City of Regina and REAL,” said Laveena Tratch, Regina COVID Immunization Chief, Saskatchewan Health Authority. “The ability to offer vaccines to people in accessible locations where our community is enjoying the great facilities our city has to offer is one more way we can keep our families and community healthy.”
The pop-up clinics will be open to walk-ups for all who meet the current vaccine eligibility for first or second doses. SHA will have limited quantities of Moderna and Pfizer on site. Appointments at these locations are not available; they are first-come, first-served. Bring your valid health care card and identification.
Saskatoon’s Mayor Charlie Clark issued a second Mayoral Challenge to Regina and Mayor Sandra Masters to see which city can get the most doses, either first or second, for the month of July. Come out and #StickItToCOVID!
