New Regina Transit Airport Bus Route Takes Flight
Residents and visitors to Regina now have a convenient way to travel directly to and from the Regina International Airport thanks to the addition of a new airport Regina Transit bus route.
“I am very pleased to see this new bus service up and running, which will improve connectivity and the overall travel experience within Regina,” said Mayor Sandra Masters. “This service offers a reliable and beneficial way for residents and visitors to connect from our international airport to our city.”
The Regina Transit’s airport service (route 24) was designed to meet the needs of employees at the airport and surrounding businesses, while providing travelers with public transportation to and from destinations in the downtown core.
“We’re thrilled to partner with the City of Regina in welcoming bus service to YQR for the first time. The businesses on airport property generate over $800 million in economic impact for our city, and providing public transit to both the employees and travellers coming to YQR is a great addition to our airport,” said James Bogusz, President & CEO, Regina Airport Authority.
The route will run from Monday to Friday when the airport and surrounding businesses experience peak traffic volumes. At this time, there is no weekend service. The daily schedule for route 24 is as follows:
- 6 a.m. – 9 a.m. (20-minute frequency)
- 4 p.m. – 9 p.m. (40-minute frequency)
- 9 p.m. – 12 midnight (20-minute frequency)
To help celebrate the return of Regina Transit to the Regina International Airport, there’s no fare required on route 24 during its first week of service, from May 8 to May 12. Regina Transit offers flexible fare options for everyone from students to seniors.
