New Zoning Bylaw in Effect
Effective tomorrow, December 21, 2019, all new applications for building and development within Regina will now be regulated by the Regina Zoning Bylaw, 2019, which was adopted by City Council on August 26, 2019.
The new Zoning Bylaw determines where new development can occur and ensures that all property uses are compatible with their surrounding areas. The Bylaw applies to new developments and does not require changes to be made to existing developments as the regulations are not retroactive and do not impact your property taxes.
Development applications received prior to today will still be reviewed under the provisions of the previous Regina Zoning Bylaw, No. 9250 as this was the bylaw in effect when on the date the application was submitted.
The new Zoning Bylaw aligns with the City’s Official Community Plan, Design Regina, and sets the regulatory framework to facilitate the long-term growth of the city and the development of complete neighbourhoods.
