Park Street Paving
On Sunday, September 13, the Park Street Rehabilitation and Bike Lane Project progresses to the final phase of work between 19th Avenue East and Douglas Avenue. This project repaired underground assets, replaced sections of concrete curbs/gutters and sidewalks, and will now begin paving the road surface and finalizing the northbound bi-directional bike lane.
Phase two kicks off at 7:30 a.m. on Sunday, September 13 with the removal and paving of the asphalt. Drivers may want to consider alternate routes as traffic will be restricted to one lane in each direction between 19th Avenue East to Douglas Avenue. Paving will start in the northbound lanes, then move to the southbound lanes when complete. Intersections will be closed as the paving progresses through them.
This work is weather dependent and paving is expected to be completed in one week. Signage and pavement markings will follow.
The City of Regina is investing in bike lanes to promote safe, active transportation and a healthier community. In 2020, we are adding four kilometres of bike infrastructure throughout our community, including a bi-directional bike lane that uses a parking lane to separate bike riders from traffic.
The health and safety of our employees, crews and community are top priority for the City of Regina. We are working closely with contractors and crews to ensure pandemic protocols are in place so work can be carried out in a safe and timely fashion.
The City of Regina thanks residents for their understanding and patience. Slow down and be safe. Workers and their families are relying on you.
