Preventative Maintenance Program Begins Traffic Advisory
Starting on Tuesday, July 30, the City of Regina will begin its annual Preventative Maintenance Program to extend the life of our roadway. With a 2019 investment of $500,000, this program repairs minimal surface cracks on roads that have been paved within the last two to five years. The treatment helps prevent water from penetrating into the road which could result in weakening and premature failure of the road structure.
Depending on the location and amount of work on a street, traffic will be restricted to one lane, or in some cases rerouted without advance notification. Work will be completed around the clock and will strive to minimize traffic disruptions when possible.
Roads throughout our community will receive this treatment including Albert Street, Broadway Avenue, Harding Street, Regina Avenue, Edinburgh Drive and Sangster Boulevard.
This program is expected to be complete in six weeks depending on weather or unforeseen circumstances.
The City of Regina thanks residents for their understanding and patience while this important infrastructure work is being completed. Slow down, plan ahead and be safe. Workers and their families are relying on you.
