Proactive Measures at Landfill due to Severe Winds
Environment Canada is expecting strong winds of 60 km/h gusting to 80 km/h starting on Wednesday morning and into Thursday afternoon.
To ensure public and employee safety, the Landfill will temporarily reduce the size of the tipping area to control the amount of airborne litter and debris. This may result in customer delays.
Due to the severe winds, residents are encouraged to visit the Landfill when conditions are more favourable.
If wind speeds are measured at 65 km/h or wind gusts equal or exceed 90 km/h,
the Landfill will close operations and not accept waste until the weather passes.
