Provincial Funds Available for Uninsurable Property or Damages Residents Can Apply for Financial Aid Related to June 11 Flooding
The City of Regina has been designated as an eligible assistance area under the Provincial Disaster Assistance Program (PDAP). Regina property owners can now apply for PDAP financial assistance to cover the costs of uninsurable essential losses, cleanup, repairs, and temporary relocation due to the heavy rain on June 11.
The Provincial Disaster Assistance Program (PDAP) helps residents, small businesses, agricultural operations, First Nations, non-profit organizations and communities recover from natural disasters, including flooding, tornadoes, plow winds and other disasters caused by severe weather.
Before applying for PDAP, residents should contact their private insurance provider to see if any damages are covered. To be considered for financial aid, property owners must complete and return the Private Property Application and all other required forms by December 11, 2021, either by email at email@example.com or in person at the PDAP office. All work must be completed by June 11, 2022. Property owners who require assistance in more than one category will need to submit separate applications for each.
The application process is handled entirely by PDAP. However, those who require a paper copy of the Private Property Application form should contact Service Regina at 306-777-7000 or visit City Hall.
Residents can learn more about the program and its eligibility requirements, as well as get answers to their questions, by going to saskatchewan.ca or calling toll-free 1-866-632-4033. PDAP staff will be happy to assist.
