Regina Fire Responds to Fatal House Fire on Montague Street
On Monday, November 15, at 3:52 p.m., Regina Fire & Protective Services (RFPS) responded to a house fire on the 600 Block of Montague Street. The fire was under control at approximately 4:12 p.m. One individual, a 47-year-old male, was declared deceased at the scene.
“Upon arrival, crews found a fully involved house fire,” said Fire Chief Layne Jackson. “Firefighters made entry and found one unconscious occupant who was removed from the home.”
One other occupant, a 24-year-old female, managed to escape the fire and was transported to hospital in stable condition suffering from smoke inhalation.
RFPS investigators are on scene to determine the cause of the fire. The investigation will involve a joint multi-agency approach, including Regina Police Service and the Saskatchewan Coroner Services.
