Ring Road – Broad Street to McDonald Street
The Winnipeg Street Overpass Project begins on Monday, May 31. This two-year major project will replace the current overpass structure and improve the configuration of the existing interchange and roadway network in the area.
Starting Monday, May 31, the speed on Ring Road will be reduced to 60 km per hour in both directions between McDonald Street and Broad Street to ensure the safety of motorists and workers in the construction zone.
During the first week of work, the contractor will be unloading material and installing jersey barriers in the construction zone. In addition to the speed reduction, traffic will be restricted to one lane between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. as follows:
- Tuesday, June 1 and Wednesday, June 2 – northbound traffic
- Thursday, June 3 – southbound traffic
- Tuesday, June 8 – northbound traffic
Throughout the project, various phases of work will require short-term, overnight or weekend road closures. The City will advise residents of any further traffic restrictions or closures as the work progresses.
Residents accessing the Mount Pleasant Sport and Dog Parks will be detoured over the next two months. Customers of the Bulk Water Station will also be detoured.
The City of Regina thanks residents for their understanding and patience. Slow down, plan ahead and be safe. Workers and their families are relying on you.
