Ring Road - Wascana Parkway to Assiniboine Avenue
A project to install expressway lighting along the Ring Road between Wascana Parkway and Assiniboine Avenue is set to begin on Monday, October 7. This project will improve visibility and safety for drivers on our road network and is expected to be complete by the end of 2019.
Work will be completed in phases, starting with underground utilities. Future phases will include installing concrete light pole bases, cabling, light poles and fixtures.
The majority of traffic restrictions for this project will include speed reductions through construction zones and some work may require lane closures to ensure the safety of drivers and crews.
Starting at 7 a.m. on Monday, October 7, drivers may want to consider alternate routes as crews begin phase one. To start, southbound traffic will be restricted to one lane intermittently with a speed reduction for three days. Once complete, crews will move to the northbound lanes with the same restrictions for three more days.
The City of Regina thanks residents for their understanding and patience while this important infrastructure work is being completed. Slow down, plan ahead and be safe. Workers and their families are relying on you.
