Smith Street and Lorne Street - Victoria Avenue to 13th Avenue and alley paving
Starting on Monday, July 27, crews will begin a paving project in the Downtown on both Smith Street and Lorne Street between Victoria Avenue and 13th Avenue. Two alleys within the boundaries of Smith Street and Lorne Street and Victoria Avenue and 12th Avenue will also be paved. These projects are being completed to reduce ponding of water and improve the driving experience.
This work is weather dependent and will include removing and paving the asphalt surface. To reduce the impact to motorists, construction will be completed in three phases. Drivers may want to consider alternate routes.
Phase 1: Starting at 7 a.m. on Monday, July 27, Smith Street between Victoria Avenue and 13th Avenue will be closed for up to three days.
Phase 2: Starting at 7 a.m. on Tuesday July 28, the alley north of Victoria Avenue from Smith Street to Lorne Street and alley west of Lorne Street from the alley north of Victoria Avenue to Smith Street will be closed for up to three days.
Phase 3: Starting at 7 a.m. on Wednesday, July 29, Lorne Street between Victoria Avenue and 13th Avenue will be closed for up to three days.
