Statement from Mayor Masters on behalf of City Council regarding the National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women

On December 6, 1989, 14 young women’s lives were stolen at École Polytechnique de Montréal because they were women.

It is our collective responsibility to take action to create a world where all women, girls and 2SLGBTQIA+ individuals are safe - free from experiencing violence for being who they are.

Today, the City of Regina’s flags will be lowered in honour of all those who have experienced gender-based violence and those who we have tragically lost to it. - Mayor Sandra Masters
