Street Sweeping Begins in Residential Neighbourhoods
Street sweeping begins in residential neighbourhoods on Monday, May 9. Clearing sand, salt and debris from our streets each spring helps make them smoother and safer for cyclists, pedestrians and drivers.
To get the job done right, the City depends on you. Don’t leave your car parked on the street the day that sweepers are in your neighbourhood. When crews have to drive around parked cars, it leaves behind debris that could have been swept away.
It’s easy to know when sweepers will arrive on your street. Visit Regina.ca/sweep and sign up for a notification by text, email or phone. You’ll know the date the sweepers will be on your street, and you’ll get a backup date in case the weather means we must postpone. You can also watch for signage in your neighbourhood.
Crews sweep Monday to Friday between 4 a.m. and 10 p.m. Ticketing and towing during the residential phase of the street sweeping program does not occur. Street sweepers can create dusty conditions that reduce visibility so be sure to give them lots of room whether you are walking, cycling or driving.
