Street Sweeping Continues Sign up for Sweep Alerts
On Sunday, April 4, the next phase of street sweeping starts as City crews begin clearing away leaves, sand and debris from high traffic and arterial roads like Albert Street, Broad Street and Arcola Avenue. This phase of the program also includes the Downtown and Cathedral neighbourhoods which have a high volume of on-street parking.
Know when a street will be swept with Sweep Alerts. Sign up to be notified by text, email, phone or e-calendar.
Residents are reminded to park off-street on scheduled days to help ensure crews can sweep the entire roadway. Watch for the No-Parking signs. During this phase of the sweep, vehicles parked in a no-parking zone may be ticketed $120 and towed.
By moving your vehicle off the road on the scheduled dates, you are helping the street sweepers get as close to the sidewalk as possible to make it smoother and cleaner which helps to preserve our streets and roads.
Street sweepers create dusty conditions that reduce visibility so be sure to give them lots of room, slow down and be safe.
Later this month, crews will begin the final phase of street sweeping in residential neighbourhoods. Watch for further notifications.
