Sunset Drive – Rae Street to Montague Street
On Monday, July 20, the final phase of work begins on Sunset Drive between Rae Street and Montague Street with the removal and paving of the asphalt surface. This project will improve sections of concrete sidewalks, curbs and gutters, as well as resurface the roadway.
Work starts at 6:30 a.m. on Monday, July 20 with the removal of the asphalt road surface. Before paving begins, crews will place tack oil on the road surface to promote adhesion. Wet Oil signs will be placed at either end of the paving area. The oil is tacky so please do not drive on it to avoid compromising the surface and tracking oil onto your vehicle or driveway.
While the City is working on the asphalt, SaskTel will be completing work within the restriction.
Drivers may want to consider alternate routes as Sunset Drive between Montague Street and Rae Street will be closed to traffic. When SaskTel finishes their work, Sunset Drive will open to allow two-way traffic to be maintained on the opposite side of the roadway until the phase is complete in two weeks, weather dependent.
