Tower Road - Dewdney Avenue to McDonald Street
Starting on Monday, July 27, crews will begin working to replace two damaged culverts where Tower Road crosses the Pilot Butte Creek (see map attached). Culverts are large pipes built under roadways that allow water to continue flowing on their natural path to receiving body of water such as a creek, or storm channel.
This work will help water continue to flow westbound from the east side of Tower Road towards the Pilot Butte Creek. In addition, crews will excavate and replace about 100 metres of soft gravel road along the culvert to improve driving condition.
Starting at 8:30 a.m., drivers may want to consider alternate routes as Tower Road will be closed to traffic between Dewdney Avenue and McDonald Street/Highway 46 for one week.
This work is weather dependent.
The health and safety of our employees, crews and community are top priority for the City of Regina. We are working closely with contractors and crews to ensure pandemic protocols are in place so work can be carried out in a safe and timely fashion.
The City of Regina thanks residents for their understanding and patience.
Slow down and be safe. Workers and their families are relying on you.
