Campbell Street – 4th Avenue to 2nd Avenue
With concrete work now complete, paving will begin on Campbell Street between 4th Avenue (north leg) and 2nd Avenue starting today. The 4th Avenue and 2nd Avenue intersections will remain open. The paving process includes milling the current surface, sweeping it, then applying tack oil and paving. Following that, the asphalt must cure before vehicles can drive on the surface.
Starting at 7 a.m., Friday, August 2 drivers will want to find an alternate route as 4th Avenue to 2nd Avenue will be closed to traffic. Completing this work under a full closure will reduce the impact to drivers and help increase the lifecycle of the roadway.
This project will be completed in eight days, depending on weather or unforeseen circumstances. This timeline includes the long weekend in which Campbell Street will be opened with work continuing early Tuesday morning.
Transit routes may be affected. Riders are encouraged to check with Regina Transit for bus stop and route changes.
The City of Regina thanks residents for their understanding and patience while this important infrastructure work is being completed. Slow down, plan ahead and be safe. Workers and their families are relying on you.
