Victoria Avenue – Albert Street to Lorne Street
Starting Tuesday, May 19, drivers may want to consider alternate routes as paving will take place along Victoria Avenue between Albert Street and Smith Street. This work will complete phase one of the Victoria Avenue Infrastructure Improvement & Beautification Project.
Paving will take place in two phases:
- Westbound lanes will be complete first and traffic on Victoria Avenue will be restricted to one lane in each direction. Smith Street and McIntyre Street between 12th Avenue and Victoria Avenue will become temporary two-way streets.
- When paving moves to the eastbound lanes, traffic on Victoria Avenue will be restricted to one lane in each direction. Smith Street and McIntyre Street between Victoria Avenue and 13th Avenue will become temporary two-way streets.
This work is weather dependent and expected to be complete in one week.
Following paving, tree planting will take place in the median between Albert Street and Lorne Street the week of May 25. Work is expected to be complete in three days and traffic will remain restricted to one lane in each direction. Smith Street and McIntyre Street will return to one-way traffic.
