Victoria Avenue – Albert Street to Smith Street
The Victoria Avenue Infrastructure and Beautification Project progresses as crews move to the next section between Albert Street and Smith Street. This project continues with improvements to intersections including larger curbs for pedestrian safety, new boulevards, updated traffic signals and enhanced street lighting.
Starting at 7 a.m. on Wednesday, August 21, drivers should consider alternate routes as Victoria Avenue traffic will continue to be restricted to one lane in each direction between Albert Street and Smith Street. In addition, residents should be aware:
- McIntyre Street will become a temporary two-way road between 13th Avenue and Victoria Avenue.
- There will be no on-street parking on Victoria Avenue in the construction zone and limited parking on side streets.
- Pedestrians will be required to cross at Albert Street or Lorne Street to ensure their safety.
This work is expected to be complete in three weeks, depending on weather or unforeseen circumstances.
Victoria Avenue is an important road in our community and work is beginning on a $6 million, multi-year infrastructure improvement and beautification project between Albert Street and Broad Street. By properly maintaining this road now, we ensure it stays in good, safe condition for another 25 years.
The City of Regina thanks residents for their understanding and patience while this important infrastructure work is being completed. Slow down, plan ahead and be safe. Workers and their families are relying on you.
