Victoria Avenue – Broad Street to Cornwall Street
The Victoria Avenue Beautification & Infrastructure Project is progressing to the final phase of work on Thursday, September 24. This phase brings the multi-year, $6 million investment between Albert Street and Broad Street closer to completion.
Phase two begins at 7 a.m. on Thursday, September 24 with paving between Broad Street and Cornwall Street. Drivers may want to consider alternate routes as traffic will be restricted to one lane in each direction. To reduce the impact to drivers, work will be completed in sections.
- Westbound lanes will be complete first with the removal of the asphalt surface, followed by paving. Hamilton Street and Rose Street between 12th Avenue and Victoria Avenue will become temporary two-way streets. Work will be completed in four days.
- On Monday, September 28, removal of the asphalt surface, followed by paving will begin in the eastbound lanes. The adjacent side streets between Victoria Avenue and 13th Avenue will become temporary two-way streets as the work progresses eastbound, including Cornwall Street, Scarth Street, Hamilton Street and Rose Street. This work will be completed in six days.
Crews will continue to replace signage and parking meters, install new traffic signals, as well as landscaping as weather allows.
This work is weather dependent.
