Weekly Garbage Collection Resumes Over the Holidays
Weekly garbage collection returns over the holiday season from December 19 to December 30, 2022. We will switch back to biweekly garbage collection over the winter months from January 2 until March 31, 2023.
The additional holiday garbage pickup does not apply to participants of the food and yard waste pilot service. All recycling and food and yard waste will be picked up as usual.
The City encourages residents to reduce, reuse and recycle to keep their holidays green and put less waste in their brown carts. Follow our “Naughty” and “Nice” list to make the most of those blue carts and Big Blue Bins.
Nice (recyclable):
- Plain non-foil wrapping paper
- Paper cards and envelopes
- Paper gift bags and boxes
- Cardboard boxes
- Metal cookie tins
Naughty (non-recyclable):
- Foil and glittery wrapping paper
- Tissue paper
- Padded envelopes & bubble wrap
- Ribbons and bows
- Styrofoam packaging
- Holiday decorations & string lights
Residents can sign up to receive free reminders that tell them when garbage, recycling and food and yard waste will be collected. To sign up for notifications, visit Regina.ca/waste or download the Regina Waste App.
