2012 Temporary Taxicab Licence Lottery
The City of Regina will host a random draw for six additional temporary taxicab licences on Monday, April 16, 2012. The lottery will be held at 1:30 p.m. in Henry Baker Hall at City Hall. Temporary taxicab licences are the property of the City of Regina and are valid for a term of 5 years (renewed annually).
The Temporary Taxicab Licence lottery is open to anyone over the age of 18. Only one entry per individual is allowed. To be eligible for the lottery, an application form must be received between the dates of April 2nd and April 13th. A non-refundable lottery fee of $50 will be charged at the time of application. All applications must be filled out in person, no exceptions.
Interested applicants may obtain a Temporary Taxi Licence lottery application form from the Licensing & Municipal Fines office, located on the main floor of City Hall beginning April 2 at 9 a.m.
Applicants that are drawn for a temporary taxicab licence will be notified via registered mail. The applicant shall ensure that he is aware of the regulations and requirements for operating a taxicab in the Province of Saskatchewan and the City of Regina.
Successful applicants must have a vehicle operating by May 31, 2012.
