City adds new Big Blue Bin locations

Thu Dec 06 09:07:31 CST 2018

Due to popular demand, the City is adding two more Big Blue Bin locations this week with three more sites planned for 2019. The Big Blue Bin Program is another way to divert recyclable material from the landfill. In 2017, 806 tonnes of material was collected through the program.

Residents can drop off their extra cardboard and paper to the following Big Blue Bin locations:
• 2151 Broad Street (beside 7-Eleven - enter from the alley) NEW
• Jack Staples Arena - 444 Broad Street NEW
• Columbus Park - Pasqua Street (south of Regina Avenue)
• Lakeshore Mall - 1380 23rd Avenue
• Northwest Leisure Centre - 1127 Arnason Street
• Rosemont Shopping Centre - 5140 4th Avenue
• Sandra Schmirler Centre - 3130 East Woodhams Drive
• Sportplex - 1717 Elphinstone Street

To keep the program running smoothly we ask that residents flatten cardboard so more material can fit in each bin. If a bin is full or if it has been taken away to be emptied, please do not place recyclables on the ground.

Did you know? Each time a Big Blue Bin is filled with paper about 50 trees are saved.
