Fall Leaf and Yard Waste Depots start this weekend - Enter to win a mulching lawn mower!

Bring your leaves, branches, pumpkins and plants to one of the four leaf and yard waste depots. Depots are open every Saturday from September 22 to November 3 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Materials collected will be turned into nutrient-rich mulch.

Enter to win a mulching lawn mower when you bring your leaf and yard waste items using environmentally-friendly methods. The winner will be announced on Wednesday, November 14, 2018.

Depot drop-off locations include:

  • Michael A. Riffel High School, 5757 Rochdale Boulevard
  • Thom Collegiate High School, 265 Argyle Street North
  • Kinsmen Park South, Kings Road and Lakeview Avenue
  • 550 Arcola Avenue, between Victoria Avenue and Winnipeg Street

 To enter the contest, residents must:

  • Bring yard waste to a fall depot in one of the following:
    • paper bags
    • reusable bags
    • reusable containers
    • bundled
    • tarped
  • Be over 18 years of age

 Did you know? Over 330 tonnes of yard waste was collected and diverted from the landfill during the spring depots – that’s two-and-a-half times more than the 2016 spring depots!
