Grandstand at historic stadium set for demolition
The stadium deconstruction contractor, Budget Demolition will be executing a controlled collapse of the west side grandstand, a structure that has been a part of the stadium since 1978.
Over the last month, a high reach excavator has removed the ramps and stands in preparation for the collapse. Once down, demolition and material recycling will continue until the end of December.
Spectators will be permitted in a designated area south of the stadium site.

The controlled collapse is weather dependent. Wind direction and speed must be optimal for the collapse to occur. The collapse of the structure will occur quickly and is scheduled for approximately 1 p.m.
