Traffic Advisory – Road Restricted - Albert Street – 4th Avenue North to 6th Avenue North
Starting Wednesday, September 20, work continues on the drainage project along 5th Avenue North, which will help to reduce the risk of basement and street flooding in the area. This phase requires upgrading the existing domestic sewer and water mains across the intersection of Albert Street and 5th Avenue North, followed by repairing damage to the road surface.
Albert Street between 4th Avenue North and 6th Avenue North will be restricted to allow the installation of a large diameter pipe across Albert Street. During the restriction, two-way traffic will be maintained in the opposite lanes.
The work will begin in the southbound lanes, then move to the northbound lanes. It’s expected to take approximately five weeks, depending on weather or unforeseen circumstances. Local traffic will be permitted whenever possible.
This project, along with several other sewer and drainage projects, has received funding from the provincial and federal governments through the Clean Water and Wastewater Fund.
The City of Regina thanks residents for their understanding and patience while this important infrastructure work is being completed.
