Traffic Advisory – Street Sweeping Pilot project wrapping up

Fri Aug 18 16:22:04 CST 2017

Drivers should consider alternate routes on Sunday, August 20 as crews will be completing the final step of the Pavement Preservation Pilot Project by sweeping off excess sand on the following streets:

•    Lewvan Drive – Regina Avenue to Parliament Avenue
•    Pettigrew Ave – Leonard Street to Henderson Drive
•    6th Ave – MacDonald Street to Park Street
•    Kress St – from Henderson Drive to McDonald Street
•    Longman Crescent
•    McLeod Street – 1st Ave to Park Street
•    Solomon Street
•    Stock Road

The crew will start on Lewvan Drive at 4 a.m. and anticipate moving into industrial area at about      9 a.m. Businesses and residents can help city crews do their work efficiently and effectively by not parking on these industrial area streets on Sunday starting 9 a.m. Motorists will notice a yellow residue after sweeping, this is normal and will disappear in a few weeks. Thank you for your cooperation during this process, which is expected to extend the life of the road for at least 5 years. The work is expected to be complete Sunday afternoon.

For everyone’s safety, drivers are reminded to slow down in construction zones and to consider alternate routes to avoid construction. Workers and their families are relying on you.
