Foundation Repair

You will need to obtain a building permit for all foundation repairs. Foundation repair refers to both internal structural bracing as well as exterior damp-proofing. Foundations for all buildings and structures must be designed by a professional architect or a professional engineer licensed in the Province of Saskatchewan. Therefore, all foundation bracing must be designed by a professional.

View the Foundation Repair permit submission package to ensure your application contains all required information and documents. A completed Residential Permit Fee Calculation Form is required as part of the application. If you need assistance with this form, call 306-777-7000. The building permit application must be signed by the legal owner of the property as well as the applicant. Incomplete submissions will not be accepted.

You can submit the package containing your building permit application between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. weekdays (except holidays) by visiting:

Note: Construction cannot begin until the permit is issued. If work commences prior to issuing of a building permit, you will be subject to a surcharge.
