The Prohibit and Regulate and Control the Use of Barbed Wire Bylaw No. 5883 was established to regulate the use of barbed wire.
- Barbed wire on a fence shall be at a height of six feet from ground level.
- No barbed wire shall protrude upon public areas (highways, sidewalks, boulevards). Barbed wire use must be wholly situated upon the owner’s property.
There are fines in place for individuals and/or corporations who do not comply to the regulations within the bylaw. Fines can reach up to $500.
