Session Four - Review and Feedback on Draft Policy and Approach

A final workshop was held with members of the development community on May 4, 2018. This session was designed to share policy recommendations that will be taken forward for City Council approval.

Objectives
  • Participants have clarity on the recommended policy directions
  • Participants have an opportunity to ask questions to seek understanding about the recommendations
  • Participants are aware of the range of initiatives that are underway that will be informed by this work

Session Three – Review and Feedback on Draft Policy and Approach

Three workshops were held with members of the development community on March 7 and 8, 2018. The sessions were designed to gather stakeholder input on the next iteration of policy.

  • Informed feedback is provided and continues to shape policy variables
  • Participants understand this project’s relationship to other City policies
  • and related future work
  • Stakeholder input is reviewed and considered in developing the next
  • version of draft policy directions
  • Appreciation of various perspectives
  • Fostering solid base for future conversations

Session Two – Collect Feedback on Variables

Three workshops were held with members of the development community on January 31 and February 1, 2018. The sessions were designed to discuss specific policy variables with participants and gather feedback on the approach.

Objectives
  • Building understanding of the how the overall revenue target is determined, how the Intensification Levy could be calculated, and what the actual fee may be for different types of development
  • Informed feedback is provided to help shape policy variables
  • Appreciation of various perspectives
  • Fostering solid base for future conversations

Session One – Educate and Gather

Three workshops were held with members of the development community on January 18 and 19, 2018. The sessions were designed to brief participants on the project and development fees to support informed participation and gather high-level input.

  • Building understanding of the background context and present-day realities as it relates to the Intensification Levy project
