Assisted Living Apartment Amendment

The proposed textual amendment to the Zoning Bylaw would remove the reference to “seniors” from the current Seniors Assisted Living Apartment land use description and alter the definition to apply to others who require some sort of routine assistance.

The current definition in the Zoning Bylaw for Seniors Assisted Living Apartment – Low-Rise is “a low-rise apartment building designed to accommodate seniors as they age and which includes common areas for dining and socializing and services such as meals, housekeeping and personal care.”

The definition would be revised to:

“Assisted Living Apartment – Low-Rise - a low-rise apartment building designed to accommodate people that require assistance with housekeeping and personal care and which includes common areas for dining and socializing.”
