The City of Regina is embarking on a new era of regional cooperation. The City works closely with the Rural Municipality of Sherwood
and the Global Transportation Hub Authority
to ensure orderly land use development within the Joint Planning Area (JPA). The City is sensitive to the cultural diversity of our region and strives to strengthen the City’s relationships and developments with neighbouring Treaty Four First Nations. The Branch actively participates in regional initiatives through the Moose Jaw Regina Industrial Corridor Inc. and the White Butte Regional Planning Committee; these groups coordinate planning efforts in the region and explore opportunities for the mutual benefit of all participating municipalities.
The City of Regina and its regional partners have hosted two Regional Planning for Growth Summits to build on the cooperative planning efforts in the Regina region and move toward implementing regional development. The Summits give delegates the opportunity to work together to address local challenges while sharing lessons and success stories with other regions.
