Proposed Sign Bylaw

The City is consolidating sign regulations together under one new Proposed Sign Bylaw to ensure consistency and ease of use for applicants. Sign regulations help ensure public safety and fit with the character of the neighbourhood.

What’s new:

  • The Proposed Sign Bylaw brings together all sign regulations currently spread across three bylaws – Zoning Bylaw, Building Bylaw, Clean Property Bylaw
  • Regulations for digital signs have been updated as they did not reflect advancements in sign technology and current safety regulations
  • Proposed regulations align with the Transportation Association of Canada’s Digital sign regulations, which address safety concerns including location, brightness and frame duration.

The Sign Bylaw is being released for public review concurrently with the Zoning Bylaw. Please provide feedback to by Friday, February 22.
