Cultural Capital of Canada
The Regina 2004 Cultural Capitals of Canada program successfully concluded with $1.2 million in investment, through 30 groundbreaking projects that celebrated our arts, culture and heritage.
The program provided once in a lifetime opportunities for cultural engagement, created jobs and partnerships, nourished pilot projects and long-term initiatives, and most significantly explored and embraced creativity as a pillar for sustainability. The legacies are countless and will nurture our city for many more years to come.
Through this program, Regina was propelled to the forefront of the Canadian Creative City movement, and is again recognised for its leading edge programming and cultural development policies. The City of Regina is proud of this unprecedented success and invites all its citizens to pursue this legacy by supporting innovative thinking and engaging in cultural activities.
