Provincial Disaster Assistance Program

The Provincial Disaster Assistance Program (PDAP) provides financial assistance to eligible claimants who have experienced substantial damage or loss due to a natural disaster event. The PDAP is administered by Government Relations. The program guidelines and regulations closely follow the federal Disaster Financial Assistance Arrangement (DFAA) program.

KEY GUIDELINES

  • The PDAP will only assist with losses that are un-insurable.  
  • The PDAP is a cost sharing program where the claimant is responsible for 5 percent of the total cost of the claim.

Rental Properties

If you are a tenant or a landlord you may be eligible for damages.  Follow the processes listed under ‘Before Regina is designated under a PDAP’ & ‘After Regina is designated under PDAP’.

As a Tenant you may claim for personal possessions that were damaged in the disaster.  Also, as a tenant if you take measures to reduce the impacts of the disaster (ex: pumping water or sandbagging) you may be able to claim any costs incurred.

As a Landlord you may claim for damages to the property and associated repair costs.  You will need to file a separate claim for each property you own, and if it is not your primary residence, you will have to claim as a small business.
