Burton

Stewart Coulter Burton came to Regina from Ontario in 1907 as a store manager. In 1929 he was invited to assume management of Saskatchewan Co-operative Creameries which was in dire financial straits. His dedication and ingenuity brought the firm back into black in a short time. Burton was elected Mayor of Regina in 1923, after serving on Council for four years. He became President of the Regina Board of Trade in 1915 and was a member of first Regina Public Library Board and Chairman of the Regina General hospital Board.
