Image of the City of Regina

Albin C. Ellison, Mayor of Regina from 1936 to 1939, was a colourful citizen who entered civic politics in 1932. Critical of the system of administering relief during the depression, he campaigned on that issue. Often referred to as Regina's Sailor Mayor, Mr. Ellison served in both wars and was the first Commanding Officer of HMCS Queen. A lawyer by profession, he was registrar at the Regina Court House for many years. He was also the author of several mystery stories.
