W. Hamilton, Q.C. was another of Regina's earliest pioneers, arriving in 1882 to set up a law practise with David L. Scott, the town's first Mayor. On July 16, 1883, a Citizen's Committee was elected to deal with the business of the town until its incorporation. Hamilton was a member of that committee. He also became a member of the Town Council from 1886 to 1887 and served as Mayor in 1888.
