Harry G.R. Walker was Mayor of Regina from 1971 to 1973. He graduated from Regina Normal School in the early 1930s, taught in a rural school near Rouleau, Saskatchewan then taught in several elementary schools in Regina. He saw service overseas during World War II and was principal of a Department of National Defence School in Germany from 1958 to 1961. He then returned to Regina and was principal of Massey School while Mayor of the city.
A Regina Alderman from 1949 to 1952, he also was a member of the Board of Governors of Regina General Hospital, and the 1952 chairman for Regina Community Chest. He was president of the Saskatchewan Teachers' Federation from 1969 to 1970.
