Comprehensive Housing Strategy

The City of Regina Comprehensive Housing Strategy (CHS) and all documents related to the strategy can be found at the Design Regina site, designregina.ca.

Background

In spring 2013, the City of Regina completed a Comprehensive Housing Strategy (CHS). The strategy addresses homelessness to home ownership and includes more than 30 strategies for addressing the city's housing issues. Goals of the CHS include: increasing the supply of rental and affordable housing; retention of the existing housing stock; increasing the diversity of housing options; addressing housing needs in creating complete communities and sustainable neighbourhoods; and partnerships with housing providers and other levels of government.

By identifying current housing issues and goals, the housing strategy is able to determine the best areas to stimulate and regulate the housing market, align the city’s programs and assets with current housing needs, and coordinate with the policies and programs of the Province. The CHS and all documents related to the strategy can be found at the Design Regina site.
