Area 3- Market Rental Unit

  • 5-year, 100% Tax Exemption (This program will expire on October 31, 2016. No exemptions for Building Permits issued after this date.)
  • Eligibility Criteria under Section 6 of the Housing Incentives Policy:
    • Four-unit building or more for Private Sector Developers; two-unit building for Non-profit Housing Providers
    • Must be in an R2 zone or higher
    • Does not include Secondary Rented Units (condominium units being rented)
    • Must remain rental for a minimum of 10 years (15 years if also receiving a capital grant as affordable rental units)
    • Properties and applicants must not have charges owed to the City of Regina
    • Must be newly-constructed residential units or the conversion of a non-residential building to residential units
    • Incentives are not provided where a heritage building has been demolished
    • If mixed-use building, only residential portion of building is eligible
