Malfunctioning Parking Meters
All parking meters in the City of Regina are marked indicating that it is illegal to park at a malfunctioning meter. This includes meters displaying the following symbols or words: violation, out of order or fail. Failure to remove your vehicle from a metered stall that shows these symbols or words may result in a parking ticket being issued under Section 38 (1) (a) of The Regina Traffic Bylaw, 9900.
No person shall park a vehicle in a metered parking stall subject to section 39, for any period of time while the parking meter for that parking stall shows “violation” or “time expired”, “out of order” or “failed”;
From time to time, a meter may fail after you have already deposited your coin. If this is the case, please contact the City of Regina immediately at 306-777-7000 or 306-777-6374 with the details of your situation. You will be asked to provide the meter number (located on the street side of the meter), and any other relevant information. You may be entitled to a refund of your payment, pending the result of an investigation of the meter.
Should a parking ticket have been issued as a result of the meter malfunctioning after your payment has been deposited into the meter and accepted, please submit your parking ticket review.
It is important to note that it is the responsibility of the customer to ensure they are complying with City parking regulations, including not parking at a malfunctioning parking meter.
