Annual Mayor’s Luncheon
On Thursday, May 4th, Mayor Michael Fougere will be hosting the annual Caring Place Luncheon in Support of Mental Health. Since 2014, the Mayor has actively supported this event, which is a major fundraiser for The Caring Place.
This year’s speaker is Canadian Olympic athlete Adam Kreek. During his 13-year rowing career, Kreek won over 60 medals, including 43 gold medal performances. In 2013, Adam made the first ever attempt to row unsupported across the Atlantic Ocean from Africa to America. His speech will focus on how to set goals and overcome diversity.
Since 1991, The Caring Place has provided safe and professional non-profit counselling to people of all ages in Regina. They work with a caring professional to help deal successfully with personal issues, regardless of their ability to pay. This non-profit centre has drawn clients from across Saskatchewan and from many lifestyles and economic levels.
