Dogwood, Redosier


Height and Spread Redosier Dogwood shrubs can quickly grow up to 3 metres in height and may have a crown width of 4.5 metres.

Preferred growing conditions Likes moist or wet loams that are located in full sun or partially-shaded areas.

Form Dogwood branches have open, spreading branches that create a rounded shape.

Flower/seeds Dull-white flowers cluster in cymes 2 to 5 cm in diameter during late May and throughout June.

Leaf Dogwood leaves are oval shaped about 5 to 12 cm in length. They are usually dark green in the summer but turn to purple in the fall

Bark/wood Bark is deep red-brown to purplish-black, which provide visual interest in the winter.

Berries Dogwoods produce a small white berry with a pit or seed in the center.

Pruning Prune to remove dead or dying branches.
