Buffaloberry, Silver


Height and Spread Silver Buffaloberries can grow up to 4 metres in height and may have a crown width of 2 to 4 metres.

Preferred growing conditions Grows well in dry, alkaline and saline soils with full sun. Is drought tolerant and can live in infertile soils if necessary. Does not tolerate wet, poorly drained sites.

Form Silver Buffaloberry has loose branches with thorns that give a rounded shape to the shrub. Roots spread out from the shrub.

Flower/seeds Yellowish flowers attached to branches turn into berries later in the season.

Leaf Silver Buffaloberry has silvery-gray leaves that are oblong and may be 2 to 5 cm in length

Bark/wood Bark is brown.

Berries Red or sometimes yellow berries form along the branches of the tree.

Pruning Prune to keep shape.
