Chuka Blvd. and Green Apple Dr.
Starting at 8 a.m. on Monday, April 5, a contractor for the City of Regina will install a new traffic signal at this intersection, along with three others, to increase safety and improve traffic flow within our community.
The traffic signals will be installed at the following locations:
- Parliament Avenue and Harbour Landing Drive
- James Hill Road and Harbour Landing Drive
- Chuka Boulevard and Green Apple Drive
- Chuka Boulevard and Green Falls Drive
Work will be completed in three phases at each intersection. Crews will finish one phase per location and rotate through the locations with the next phases of work. All installations are anticipated to be complete by early July, depending on weather or unforeseen circumstances.
Phase one includes the installation of signal bases and underground work. This phase will take three weeks per location. During phase one, drivers may want to consider alternate routes as traffic will be restricted in all directions at each location. Pedestrian access will be maintained.
Upon completion of phase one, crews will proceed with phase two which includes work above ground to install junction boxes, traffic controllers and signal poles. Phase two is anticipated to be completed in June.
City crews will complete remaining work in the third phase including putting the traffic signals into operation in July.
