Victoria Avenue Beautification & Infrastructure Project
Starting Wednesday, July 8, work moves to the eastbound lanes between Hamilton Street and Broad Street. Traffic will remain restricted to one lane in each direction. This restriction will be in place for five weeks, depending on weather or unforeseen circumstances.
Other important traffic and pedestrian information:
- Both Hamilton Street and Rose Street, between 13th Avenue and Victoria Avenue, will become temporary two-way roads with no access at Victoria Avenue.
- Sidewalks are closed to pedestrians for safety in the construction zone. Pedestrians must cross at Scarth Street or Broad Street.
- There is no on-street parking on Victoria Avenue in the construction zone and limited parking on side streets as these may become temporary two-way streets.
- Traffic lights, streetlights and parking meters will be removed with the plan to reinstall them as quickly as possible.
The project schedule aims to minimize impact for downtown residents and businesses. Restrictions and closures will take place throughout the construction season for both traffic and pedestrians. Watch for signs and plan alternate routes.
