Winnipeg St. - 2nd Ave. N. to 5th Ave. N.
On Tuesday, September 3, work will begin to connect the new Transit Fleet Maintenance Facility to the water/sewer systems. To ensure safety of workers and drivers, Winnipeg Street will need to be closed to traffic as these connections are located in the centre of street.
Work is expected to be complete in three weeks, depending on weather or unforeseen circumstances.
Starting at 7 a.m., drivers will need to consider alternate routes as Winnipeg Street between 2nd Avenue North and 5th Avenue North will be closed to traffic. Traffic will be detoured. Watch for signs.
Customers needing to purchase bus passes and rides should purchase them at the Transit Information Centre or one of our many Transit agents. The Transit Operations Centre will be closed to customers during this work.
This new 60,000-square facility will help ensure that our Transit service can continue to grow and be sustainable as our city and population continues to grow. It also allows us to better care for our growing fleet of buses, be more efficient in our operations and makes for a safer environment for employees who maintain the bus fleet.
The City of Regina thanks residents for their understanding and patience. Slow down, plan ahead and be safe. Workers and their families are relying on you.
