Albert Street Rehabilitation Project
Beginning Monday, May 2, a major Street Infrastructure Renewal project on Albert St between 3rd Ave and 1st Ave North begins. This $1.5 million investment will improve sidewalk conditions and pedestrian safety, drivability, drainage and extend the lifecycle of the road.
Work will start at 1st Ave in the southbound lane and includes concrete and median replacement and resurfacing to provide a smoother commute. Other work will include new signal lights, line painting, and relocating street poles to improve pedestrian safety.
The project will be completed in sections over the summer and one travel lane will be always open in each direction during construction. Work is expected to be complete in September, pending weather or unforeseen circumstances. Residents will be notified of any changes to traffic restrictions as work progresses.
