When does the program start?
The program launched March 1, 2021
Where is the revenue going?
Sponsorship and advertising revenue is intended only to supplement City funding for the purpose of enhancing City programs and services. Revenue will go into the General Fund. It is not intended to displace City existing funding.
Who can participate?
The program will allow local, regional, and national companies the opportunity to participate, with a few exceptions as outlined in the Sponsorship, Naming Rights and Advertising Policy. Companies must not be in violation of any City bylaw or policy. Sponsorship or advertising will also not be accepted from companies or organizations that compromise the reputation of the City’s public image. What happens to all pre-existing sponsor/advertising agreements?
The policy does not apply to any existing 3rd party agreements until those agreements become renewable. At such time, it is the programs intention to continue to support and build those relationships with organizations and community associations.
